The Atlanta Constitution, December 9, 1900

I wish I could figure out who the lady in question here is.

The heir-apparent at this time was Grand Duke Michael Alexandrovich. In September 1902, at 22, he did begin a flirtation with Princess Beatrice of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, who was 18 at the time, but due to their relationship (that of first cousins) their romance was doomed, as the Russian Orthodox Church would not permit their marriage. In 1900 she was 16, not 14. Micheal eloped with his mistress Natalia Brasova in 1912, but they hadn’t met until 1907 and in 1900 she was already 20.

Who might she have been?
