Stanley Wassil struck his girlfriend Marjorie Page (also known as Marjorie Zears, while she worked as one of Mack Sennett’s Bathing Beauties) during an altercation, reportedly about their finances and her excessive drinking. The couple had lived together for seven years, Wassil was 11 years her junior. Marjorie, 41, died of brain hemorrhaging caused by the fall she took when Wassil pushed her. He was sentenced to one year in prison plus five years probation for his part in her death.
