Palace Hotel, West Hastings & Carrall, Vancouver, 1898
Yea Yea Yea reads the sign on the wagon, the cry of the
Fraternal Order of Eagles, or F.O.E., which began in Seattle as the Order of Good Things in February of this same year, 1898. Vancouver formed it’s first chapter, Aerie 6, soon afterwords. I’m guessing these men were rustling up some memberships. The Palace Hotel came down 14 years later, in 1912, but the Merchant’s Bank building, constructed in 1913, still stands in it’s place.
