Do you get as sad as I do when you see the then vs. now street photos and they look drastically different from each other?

Most of the time yeah! I’ve only seen one or two examples where things look better. One example, there was a picture I posted from Victoria a few weeks ago, from around 1950, and they’d basically covered any distinguishing features of the building, it was just a white flat wall, cornices covered etc, but in the “now” version they’d restored it look more like it did when it was first built!
But yeah, it can be really sad sometimes. There was one house (also from Victoria) that I saw that was gorgeous, almost a mansion, it had a cupola, and the house that’s sitting on the lot now is really shabby looking - it almost looks like a trailer house or a shack.
