I wonder if the "she may just want help killing her husband" headline is a reference to the Ruth Snyder and Judd Gray case in 1927, did it mention anything else?

I listen to a podcast called True Crime Historian where he basically reads old articles which follow murders from their first appearance in the papers until the conclusion of the trial (or, if the criminal does anything interesting enough to make it into the papers afterwards). It’s pretty interesting! It feels like he’s done a lot of episodes on wives killing their husbands from the 20s, it seems like maybe it was a bit of an “epidemic” (or more articles were published about it happening, anyways) around then.
The clipping I posted wasn’t a headline though, it was from a section of the El Paso Herald called “Center Shots” which was basically just one sentence quips, usually about timely things. It might’ve been referencing that particular case or just the way that sort of newspaper story was popular at the time!
