I've tried the egg in coffee. Not as weird as it sounds. Best bet is it comes from Norway or elsewhere in Scandinavia where they would beat an egg into coffee grounds with a little water, then add the paste to boiling water and filter it into mugs. Fun tip: dropping a raw egg into a mug of beer is also a good breakfast if you're going to work in a mine or operating heavy machinery ;)
